After 37 years of maintaining wood floors, we've learned everything there is to know about how to take care of wood floors. We offer wood floor maintenance services for residential and commercial clients in Endwell, NY. This includes sanding, refinishing, and applying a protective seal coat.

Our Maintenance Services

Over time, hardwood floors can become scratched, discolored, and worn down. Sanding and refinishing is a process that removes the top layer of damaged wood and replaces it with a fresh layer. This process restores the natural beauty of your floors and can add years to their lifespan. Our team of experts uses state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to ensure your floors look their best. In addition to sanding and refinishing, we also offer the application of a protective seal coat. This coating helps to prevent scratches and damage from everyday wear and tear, as well as spills and stains. Our seal coats are available in various finishes, from matte to high gloss, so you can choose the look that best suits your style.

Everyday Floor Care

Vacuum or sweep at least once a week. Dust mop in-between weekly cleaning to help eliminate fine particles of grit and dirt that can act like sandpaper and abrade the floor finish. Use a mild detergent at least weekly to clean exposed areas of floors. Spills and tracked-on dirt should be cleaned immediately. Lightly spray Glass Plus directly onto surface and wipe clean with a sponge or paper towel.

Wood Floor Care Tips

1) Use mild detergent frequently as part of your regular cleaning routine. (Dawn, Ivory, etc.) It is not recommended to use lemon scented detergent.

2) Do not use Murphy's Oil Soap, Pledge or Endust because they will give the floor a very dull look and may even cause the floor to become slippery.

3) Use doormats and/or area rugs by door entries to help prevent dirt, sand, and grit from entering the house. Wipe up food, beverage and other spills immediately.

4) Install felt furniture glides. Replace round-headed glides with rubber substitutes on furniture legs.

5) Keep the relative humidity in your home between 45% and 55% because excessive humidity can cause wood fibers to swell, creating cracks in the finish.

6) Do not walk on floors with spiked heels or with any shape objects protruding from shoe.
